Tony is a Conservation Architect with extensive experience in the repair and reuse of historic buildings and new structures in sensitive locations. He joined Donald Insall Associates in 1993 as a member of the Windsor Castle restoration team, opened the Chester office in 1998, became a Board Director in 2005 and served as Chairman from 2013-2023.

Tony has a strong portfolio of award-winning projects completed under his leadership, many of which involve significant changes in sensitive historic buildings. Since retiring as Chair, Tony works part time as a Consultant. He is Chester Cathedral Architect and inspecting architect for several Listed Cheshire Churches; Heritage Chair of Chester Civic Trust, Heritage Investment Lead for Chester’s One City Plan, and Chair of Cheshire Historic Buildings Preservation Trust.
