Elyse is an Associate Director at Orms and made the move to the practice in 2023 following 17 years at Grimshaw. She found her particular fondness for working with historic buildings through working on Grimshaw’s conversion of the Grade II listed Herman Miller Factory in Bath. Subsequently she completed her Masters in Building History at the University of Cambridge, which included working at Historic England as a Heritage at Risk Projects Officer. From this, and her diverse experience of complex projects in the transport, education, and leisure sectors she is now leading one of the largest Grade I listed conservation projects in London.

In addition to her practice work, she is a visiting design tutor back at her alma mater The University of Bath.

She is an accredited RIBA Conservation Architect and in 2020 she was named in the AJ’s 40 under 40.
