Celebrating and rewarding design excellence in UK architecture

The Architects’ Journal is delighted to announce the 2025 AJ Architecture Awards winners!

On 27 November 2025, The Architects’ Journal unveiled the 22 winners of the 2025 AJ Architecture Awards in categories ranging from Cultural to Housing, Leisure to Workplace and Heritage to Refurb.

This year’s event, hosted by comedian Paul Sinha at the Royal Lancaster London, brought together leading voices from across the industry to celebrate architecture’s most inspiring and accomplished projects across the UK.

AJ Architecture Awards 2025: 27 November

For us as a practice, I think it’s important. It shows our commitment to clients' long-term goals, thinking creatively about projects, and using our experience in other sectors to unlock challenging projects.

School Project winner 2024, Hawkins\Brown

It has been a fantastic award for us to win.

Editor’s Choice and Leisure Project winner 2024, Michael Laird Architects

We had a lot of complexity and many challenges, and these were great architects who helped pull it all together and turn the vision we had for the site back in 2013/2014 into a reality. It’s amazing.

Mixed-used Projects (£75 Million and over) 2024 winner, Fletcher Priest Architects

We worked really hard on this project, and we’re super proud of the entire team. Not just the architectural team, but also the clients, project manager, and the entire consultant team who made this possible.

Housing Project (up to £10 million) 2024 winner, Gbolade Design Studio

I think it will bring a lot more clients, showcasing our excellent work in the higher education sector.

Higher Education Project 2024 winner, BDP

We’re just really hopeful that these awards will lead to bigger work and help our practice grow.

The Manser Medal – AJ House of the Year and Architects of the Year 2024 winner, Surman Weston

I think this is a fantastic award for the whole team, so incredibly proud.

Design of the Year and Cultural Project 2024 winner, Hoskins Architects

Rubbing shoulders with some of the big names is incredible, so we didn’t expect it at all, to be fair. It’s not a project we started to try and get an award, so we’ll take it! Very, very proud.
