Jo is driven by a desire to make buildings of character with as little cost to the planet as possibile, searching for a new expression for low impact design in the process. Jo established Editional Studio with friend & Co-Director Jack Richards in 2018, since then they have built a reputation for retrofit at all scales from domestic, to community buildings and public spaces. The studio has been profiled in the Architects Journal’s 40 under 40, the Architecture Foundation’s New Architects 4 & the RIBA Journal’s Future Winners 2022. The studio has received the RIBA Research Fund for their project ‘Decarbonise Your House Now!’ and was highly commended by the William Sutton Prize for Sustainability and Placemaking in 2021. For the last five years Jo ran a Masters in Architecture design studio at Sheffield School of Architecture focussing on retrofit and low-carbon construction with two of her students winning The Architect’s Journal’s national ‘Student Sustainability Award' in 2022. She is currently a 'Places Matter’ Design Review Panel member for RIBA North West.
