An economist by background, started his career with a research institute in Rome before joining Locum Destination Consulting in 1998, where he specialised in business planning and operational advice for arts, heritage and leisure destinations.
In 2005, Dan led an international consortium of companies that produced the Vision and Regeneration Strategy for Central Salford. He then worked internationally on large urban extensions in Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Italy and Malta.
From 2010-12, Dan was a lead consultant to The Football Association, helping to secure planning, finance and operators for the landmark National Football Centre at St George’s Park.
He co-founded Fourth Street in 2012, as a specialist management consultancy that advises public and private sector clients on the delivery of ‘unique and unusual’ places. His work includes the conceptualisation and planning of new visitor destinations and the articulation of placemaking stories and strategies for new urban quarters.
His clients include some the UK’s largest cultural institutions and entertainment venues, as well private developers like U+I, Berkeley Homes, Delancey, Argent and Placefirst.
