Tim is a Londoner. He is an architect, urbanist and a cultural polymath. He was educated at Cambridge and the Royal College of Art, and through his childhood in the hill towns of Umbria. He has wide‐ranging experience in architecture, masterplanning, landscape and interiors ‐ in London, Doha, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Liverpool and other cities. Tim founded Makower Architects in 2012, current projects include a new town centre in North Cambridge, a crescent of apartments in South Cambridge, a 80+ ha Doha regeneration framework, a 1380+ unit masterplan in Hayes and Harlington and a large residential project in West Hendon. Tim’s 28 years’ experience at Allies and Morrison included major architectural projects such as the Qatar National Archive, Bankside 123, St Andrew’s Bow, Liverpool One and Coolsingel Rotterdam and masterplanning projects such as King’s Cross, Tottenham Hale, the Msheireb Project and Sidra Village Doha. Tim’s approach to architecture and urbanism has been developed into a book about scale as it is manifested in cities, ‘Touching the City’.
