Alan Shingler is a Partner at Sheppard Robson, leading sustainable design and the practice’s residential portfolio. He was an RIBA National Councillor and chaired the RIBA Sustainable Futures Group for 6 years as sustainability advisor for the institute.
Alan has twenty years’ experience working on mixed-use regeneration projects. Whilst at Sheppard Robson he has been responsible for award-winning designs, including the UK’s first net-zero-carbon Code Level 6 home ‘Lighthouse’, Barking Riverside, Buzzards Mouth Court and Camden Courtyards. Alan also led sustainable design for Siemens Headquarters at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, a LEED Platinum building and was appointed to undertake a Peer Review on the US Embassy for London on behalf of the US State Department in Washington.
Alan sits on Sheppard Robson’s Design Board, where his approach to design is underpinned by fully integrating a sustainable design methodology that balances efficiency and performance with form.
