Categories
Civic Project
New-build or significant extension and/or refurbishment of a civic building, including civic centres, council buildings, visitor centres or any building containing a significant public-facing facility and completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Community and Faith Project
New-build or refurbished community and/or faith projects completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024. Includes buildings for organised, established religions, or those that have a purpose of bringing a community together.
Cultural Project
New-build or refurbished cultural projects completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024 that promote culture and the arts, including theatres, archives, cinemas, museums, art galleries and music venues.
Health and Wellbeing Project
A new-build project or significant refurbishment or extension of a building used for health and wellbeing. Includes hospitals, doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries and projects such as Maggie’s Centres completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Heritage Project
Refurbishment, retrofit or extension of an historic building completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Higher Education Project
New-build or refurbished projects for colleges, and universities and other further or higher education institutions completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Housing Project
New-build or significantly refurbished or extended housing projects completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024. Must include two or more units. Please note that judges must be able to enter a property or properties as part of the judging process.
Infrastructure and Transport Project
New-build infrastructure or refurbishment and upgrade work of existing facilities where the projects which exhibits a significant spatial or structural design emphasis such as underground, rail or bus stations, bridges as well as buildings constructed to deliver public utilities. Must be completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Landscape and Public Realm Project
A landscape architecture or urban design project completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Leisure Project
New-build or refurbished projects completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024 in the hotel, retail, sports and leisure sectors. Includes bars, restaurants, hotels/hospitality, spas, shopping centres, shops, stadiums, sports halls, swimming pools and leisure centres.
Mixed-use Project
New-build or upgraded, extended, or refurbished mixed-use developments designed for at least two distinct uses and completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Project under £500k
A new-build or refurbishment project from any sector completed for less than £500k total construction cost. Must be completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
Refurb Project
An outstanding refurbished or retrofitted building that has been updated to modern standards of energy efficiency completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
School Project
New-build or refurbished projects for early years provision, primary and secondary schools completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024. Includes nursery, infant, primary and secondary schools, and academies.
The Manser Medal – AJ House of the Year
New-build or retrofitted houses completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024. Please note that judges must be able to enter the property as part of the judging process. The latest EPC certificate for this project (and obtained after the completion of your works) must also be supplied.
Workplace Project
New-build or refurbished workplaces, offices or studios completed between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024. Includes laboratories, research buildings and office campuses.
