Sarah Gaventa MA (Royal College of Art) is currently the Creative Director of Ealing Council leading its arts and culture ambitions. Sarah was the government’s advisor on public space as Director of CABE Space at the Commission for Architecture and Built Environment, advising on creating well designed, inclusive and sustainable public spaces. She has extensive experience working with communities having chaired both the Elephant and Castle Community Forum and the Elephant Park Advisory Group. As Director of the Illuminated River Foundation she led the creation of a multi award winning and the largest public art project in the world ,spanning nine bridges from London to Lambeth Bridge. Prior to these roles Sarah ran Scarlet Projects a consultancy creating innovative events including the Design Fete in the V&A and was an associate at RSHP architects. She has curated major exhibitions for both Historic England and the RIBA. Sarah is an Honorary Fellow of both the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Landscape Institute and a Freeman of the City of London.
